Hi Everyone! First, and foremost, I want to thank K Andrew over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew for the inspiration to make this project. I follow K Andrew and decided to enter a project into her latest challenge. If you don't already follow K, you absolutely must. She's an inspiration in every way!
The challenge is "All About Disney." Well, right now, our family is ALL about Disney. Our first vacation as a new family is going to be in July and we're heading to Disney World. Woohoo!!! I'm not sure who's more excited, my husband, me or the kids ;) In anticipation of our upcoming vacation, I created this project. It is called Countdown to Disney. My favorite part of this is that the little rectangle in the middle is actually chalkboard paper. I used chalk to write "55 days" and each night before bed I can erase the number and write a new number. (I see lots of potential for this chalkboard paper!)
The square base for this is 8x8. I used that size so that when I make the scrapbook pages after our trip is done, I can take this and put it right on my first 12x12 page. I used my Cricut and the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge to cut the circles and the words. I used Cricut Craftroom to create the words and welded them together prior to cutting them. It saves SO much time to have them welded rather than having to glue down individual letters.
The polka dot paper is Magic Multi Dots, the text paper is Magic Words and the zig zag paper (the mat for the chalkboard paper) is Magic Zig Zag, all from Queen & Co. The chalkboard paper is called Chalkstock from Canvas Corp. All of these papers came in 12x12. The buttons are from Close to My Heart and the ribbon is from Michaels.
I am almost incapable of creating a project without making it sparkle (other than my son's football pages). I used diamond, yellow and black diamond Stickles on the polka dots, zig zags and letters.
We're definitely excited to be going to Disney. It is a first for our kids and we are so blessed to be able to take them on this adventure. It is the first of many for us! Only 55 days until DISNEY...

It's a Zoo...
Hi Everyone!
Well, it has been a ZOO around our home lately. I think it's because spring is in the air. After a long Minnesota winter, it is time to get outside and enjoy any and every bit of warm weather we have. Spring/summer sports have begun, the kids are in their last quarter of school with some major big projects and MCA testing, and we haven't gotten out of work on time in the last couple weeks. Did I mention how much fun it is though? Because it is!! These are all things I am very thankful for.
In honor of our zoo life right now, I thought I would share a two page layout from our visit to the Minnesota Zoo. We took the kids to the zoo the weekend before they officially moved in with us eight months ago. These photos were some of my favorites to scrap. We had such a fun time at the zoo. The kids had never been there before. It was a day we will never forget! One week later, they officially moved in.

These fabulous zoo themed papers are from Bo Bunny Press' Zoology collection. The super fun embellishments and accents are the coordinating chipboard stickers from the Zoology collection, along with some real looking animal stickers I had in my collection. The solid cardstock is from CTMH. I used my Gypsy to weld together the letters for the date title and cut it out on my Cricut Imagine.
The kids had so much fun at the zoo. I am certain we will be visiting the zoo many times this summer!!

Spring Break
Hi Everyone!
Our family is on spring break so I won't be posting any projects this week. We didn't head out of town for spring break, but still have so much going on. The kids have field trips every day this week. SeSe has basketball twice this week and JB is starting baseball practice tomorrow night. Super fun!!! Guess what that means?!?!? You guessed it...more photos to scrap!!!! The kids have been heading to bed later than their normal bed time this week, which is cutting into my crafting time. During the school week, I tuck them both in and head straight to the craft room. Not this week though ;) I'm sure all you mommies can relate to that! I'm not complaining though...I want to spend as much time as I can with them before they start school again next week to begin their last quarter of school. They are on their way to finishing up their first school year at their new schools :) We're so proud of them. They have adjusted so well to all the changes in their lives.
In anticipation of this weekend's project, I've begun syncing all my Cricut cartridges to the Cricut Craft Room ("CCR"). I've fallin' in love with the CCR. If you haven't given it a try, you totally should! The possibilities are endless. Plus, you can download some digital carts that you can only get through the CCR. My next projects that I will be working on will include pieces that I will be creating in the CCR.
If you haven't already checked out the CCR, click here to go to the website. You'll need your Cricut login and password if you have one, otherwise you'll need to register for one. You can either download the CCR program on your PC or Mac, or you can just play around with it online. If you decide to do any cutting or printing with your Cricut machine using the CCR, you'll need to have the program on your computer and use your sync cord from your PC/Mac to your Cricut machine.
